Foundation - 8 Weeks

Our Beginner Acting Course Level 1 is a great place to start for those with little or no experience of script analysis and acting. People from every walk of life take this incredibly popular Beginner Acting course. Some who have already had a bit of professional experience, to models, young adults, retirees and to those who are intrigued to see if they have what it takes. Over 8 weeks, this highly-regarded Beginner acting course, (recommended by reputable casting agents and directors Australia-wide), will provide you with the foundations you need to deliver a strong and truthful performance. We believe in honouring the courage of those who train at Brave Studios. In doing so, we offer a safe and nurturing environment to train in and take risks.This way we believe our students can dare to challenge themselves and take a risk with supportive, like-minded people.

This foundation course will give students the skills and tools they need in order to progress to our Beginners course Part 2 to continue their study.

Beginner Acting Course includes;

  • Brave Studios professional warm-up technique.
  • De-mystifying the process professional actors use.
  • Comprehensive text analysis.
  • Breaking down the barriers of fear and how to deal with nerves.
  • Techniques for learning lines.
  • Character development.
  • Performing scenes with a professional actor in the final week.
  • All scenes filmed uploaded to a private channel on Brave Studios Vimeo pagefor self-critiquing in your own time.

These elements will be applied to enhance your learning and best prepare you for our Part 2 Beginner course .

Alternatively, if you’d like to get a taste of what this course involves without initially committing to 8-weeks, you can join us for one of our 3-hour introduction to acting workshops held regularly at Brave Studios.

Strong command of the English Language:

Students will be dealing with difficult concepts that require an advanced level of English language comprehension. Therefore, it is imperative that all students have a strong command of English. Please feel free to discuss this with one of our staff at Brave Studios should you need clarification.

How is Brave different from other schools?

Brave Studios is an acting school run by industry professionals for all levels of experience from beginners to professionals. All teachers and course directors have extensive experience and are all regularly working in the industry.

We pride ourselves on providing individual attention and feedback. Our Acting classes have a strict size limit of 14 people per class so that you will have sufficient time on the floor working with the teacher each and every class.

Brave Studios streams all their classes highly to ensure students are being challenged accordingly.

  • Payment Options

    *We do not take payment through the website. Payment can either be made over the phone via credit card, or via direct deposit. The account details will be sent to you in an invoice once you enrol.
    *If paying a deposit, please note that the balance for the course is due 2 weeks prior to course commencement. Your deposit must be received before your place can be confirmed
    *STUDENT LOYALTY DISCOUNT - If you have completed 3 or more 8 week courses with Brave Studios you may be eligible for an ongoing 10% discount. This only applies to Beginner and Actors Workshop 8 week courses commenced from 2013 onwards.

  • CONDITIONS OF ENROLMENT:

    BALANCE:
    Any outstanding balance must be paid 2 weeks prior to the course commencement.
    REFUND POLICY:
    Notification of cancellation must be given at least 14 days prior to course commencement for course fees or deposit to be refunded. If you do not notify us of cancellation 14 days prior to the commencement of the course your deposit and/or any fees paid will be retained by Brave Studios.
    No refunds will be given for cancellations made after course commencement.
    Payments for the 3-hour introductory workshop and 1-day auditioning workshops are non-refundable.
    Brave Studios reserves the right to cancel any class, in which case fees will be refunded in full.
    12 MONTH PROGRAMS- All payments must be made on the agreed date specified on the Invoice. Should you withdraw from the course after the commencement date, any fees paid will be retained, no refund will be applied and you are obliged to pay the balance of all fees owing.
    TRANSFER POLICY:
    If a student has paid a deposit and wishes to transfer into another course as opposed to receiving a refund, the transfer should take place within 12 months of the initial course start date, given that at least 14 days notice has been received. It is the student's responsibility to inform us of their availability for new course dates. The student will also be subject to any course fee increases made during that time. The 3-hour introductory workshop and 1 day auditioning workshops are non-transferable.  
    VIDEO POLICY:
    All class footage filmed at Brave Studios remains the property of Brave Studios and must not be used for any purpose unless permission is sought and granted by Brave Studios Directors.
