Online Introduction to Acting Course

Our Online Introduction to Acting Course is back. Due to the current circumstances, Brave Studios is adapting to help students continue to learn the craft of Acting outside of the classroom.

All classes will be conducted via Zoom. Zoom is an easy web-based video conferencing tool and a mobile app that allows users to meet online with LIVE video. We will, therefore, be able to offer our usual classes in an easy-to-use online format.

Our Teachers have been fully trained in this new platform to ensure all teachings continue delivering premium courses at Brave Studios.Our online 3 hour Introduction to Acting course has been adapted to enhance the teachings for Online acting training

3-HOUR INTRODUCTORY COURSE FOR BEGINNER ACTORS

Would you like to try acting, but not sure where to start? This introductory course at Brave Studios offers an opportunity to trial our Beginner Acting Course level 1 in a condensed, one-off 3-hour acting workshop.
This is a great place to start if you’re a complete beginner with absolutely no experience in acting, or you would like to try our Brave Studios to see how we teach acting.
Whether you’ve had a little experience or are just starting out or curious to see if acting is for you, this is your chance to learn how to act in a safe and supportive acting course environment. Suitable for participants from 18 years and over, we welcome all ages to come and try this acting class (for our kids school please see Greentree Acting School)
You will receive a short scene to learn 1 week prior to the course start date. Don’t worry – it’s only one page! You will then learn how to act by applying acting techniques taught to you by the Beginners Course teacher and acclaimed actor Mark Hennessy.

What this Workshop will cover:

  • How to read a scene.
  • Learn basic Script Analysis.
  • Work on a scene with an allocated scene partner.
  • Start to explore how to be truthful within a scene.
  • Working through nerves and how to best learn lines

Strong Command of the English language

Students will be dealing with difficult concepts that require an advanced level of English language comprehension. Therefore, it is imperative that all students have a strong command of English. Please feel free to discuss this with one of our staff at Brave Studios should you need clarification.

  • Payment Options

    *We do not take payment through the website. Payment can either be made over the phone via credit card, or via direct deposit. The account details will be sent to you in an invoice once you enrol.
    *If paying a deposit, please note that the balance for the course is due 2 weeks prior to course commencement. Your deposit must be received before your place can be confirmed
    *STUDENT LOYALTY DISCOUNT - If you have completed 3 or more 8 week courses with Brave Studios you may be eligible for an ongoing 10% discount. This only applies to Beginner and Actors Workshop 8 week courses commenced from 2013 onwards.

  • CONDITIONS OF ENROLMENT:

    BALANCE:
    Any outstanding balance must be paid 2 weeks prior to the course commencement.
    REFUND POLICY:
    Notification of cancellation must be given at least 14 days prior to course commencement for course fees or deposit to be refunded. If you do not notify us of cancellation 14 days prior to the commencement of the course your deposit and/or any fees paid will be retained by Brave Studios.
    No refunds will be given for cancellations made after course commencement.
    Payments for the 3-hour introductory workshop and 1-day auditioning workshops are non-refundable.
    Brave Studios reserves the right to cancel any class, in which case fees will be refunded in full.
    12 MONTH PROGRAMS- All payments must be made on the agreed date specified on the Invoice. Should you withdraw from the course after the commencement date, any fees paid will be retained, no refund will be applied and you are obliged to pay the balance of all fees owing.
    TRANSFER POLICY:
    If a student has paid a deposit and wishes to transfer into another course as opposed to receiving a refund, the transfer should take place within 12 months of the initial course start date, given that at least 14 days notice has been received. It is the student's responsibility to inform us of their availability for new course dates. The student will also be subject to any course fee increases made during that time. The 3-hour introductory workshop and 1 day auditioning workshops are non-transferable.  
    VIDEO POLICY:
    All class footage filmed at Brave Studios remains the property of Brave Studios and must not be used for any purpose unless permission is sought and granted by Brave Studios Directors.
