Georgina Naidu
Georgina Naidu is a multidisciplinary artist, educator, cultural adviser and facilitator with more than 30 years’ experience across theatre, screen, education and community-engaged practice. A graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts, with a Law degree from La Trobe University, Georgina brings a rare combination of artistic, pedagogical, legal and cultural knowledge to her work.
She is currently Course Coordinator of Undergraduate Acting at the Victorian College of the Arts, University of Melbourne, and Executive Director of Western Edge, a youth arts organisation working with young people and artists from Melbourne’s west. Across these roles, Georgina is deeply committed to building arts spaces that are culturally responsive, accessible, inclusive and grounded in care.
Her facilitation is informed by decades of experience as a performer, director, dramaturg, writer, script editor and educator, as well as her work with organisations including Western Edge, Red Stitch Actors’ Theatre, Melbourne Theatre Company, Back to Back Theatre, Malthouse Theatre, Belvoir St Theatre, Museums Victoria, Multicultural Arts Victoria and the University of Melbourne.
Georgina is also an established actor with an extensive career across television, film and theatre. Her professional practice continues to inform her advisory and teaching work, grounding it in lived industry knowledge, practical wisdom and a strong belief in a more just, joyful and representative arts sector.
